PIT BULL HATE ADVOCATES
Saturday, 14 March 2015
Stacy Renee Snow Children should be taught to never touch strange dogs, no exceptions. And dogs should be muzzled. Though this one may have never showed signs before, that's why teaching children not to touch dogs is important. It's such a shame she had to go through this after losing her brother. Family has been through enough, glad that it looks like this scarring for this victim won't be severe.

I hate to say it but one of my spaniels could have done that. Certain spaniels have a nervy streak and they hate people bending down over them. It's a defensive thing. I absolutely bet that if that little girl had walked on past the dog without looking at it, it would not have gone for her.

Unfortunately, maybe because of their breeding, some spaniels have a nervous streak in them. They are not so stable as labradors. They are not going to rush up to someone in the street and "attack" them but this is a typical situation that can go wrong. Children must be told not to bend down over dogs they don't know well, or even put their hands over their heads.

One of mine wears a muzzle out on walks because this is the kind of thing I dread happening.

Esp with English Springer Spaniels there's this known condition called "Springer Rage Syndrome". Don't know if that is what caused this attack.

Could well be that.

There used to be a cocker rage syndrome too. But it was in the show-bred cockers, not the working-type English cockers, which are very different. The working varieties of both English springers and English cockers have very good temperaments on the whole.

So many people seem unable to recognise which dogs are genuinely friendly and want to greet you and which just want to be left alone. One of my spaniels loves people and you can tell she wants to say hello because she does a really wide wag with her t
ail and her whole body moves with it. She is all bendy and looks as though she is begging to be stroked. It's also the expression on the face, with the soft eyes and the ears back, and the relaxed mouth. When dogs are unresponsive and don't look like that, no-one should approach them if they don't know them.

I have run across vicious cocker spaniels and nice ones. Watch these dogs around children, especially if the child is a stranger to these types of dogs.

I pray that Annie Ramsay little face will be made beautiful again. She is such a precious child. She doesn't need to grow up with scars on her little face. Lord help her face to heal. amen

Yes. Poor little girl. She will probably be frightened of dogs now.

Oh no! They can be more snappy than large dogs, I find.
